Pregnancy Care
Pregnancy Is a Journey, Not Just a Destination
Pregnancy brings extraordinary change — physically, emotionally, and hormonally. And while conventional prenatal care does an excellent job of monitoring the health of you and your baby, appointments are often short and focused on screening. There isn't always time to address how you're actually feeling day to day, or to take a proactive approach to reducing risk and optimizing your health throughout the journey.
That's where I come in. I work alongside your existing obstetric or midwifery care — not in place of it — to provide thorough, individualized naturopathic support from early pregnancy through to the postpartum period.
My Approach to Pregnancy Care
No two pregnancies are the same, and my approach reflects that. Whether you're navigating difficult first trimester symptoms, managing a higher-risk pregnancy, preparing for labour, or recovering postpartum, care is tailored to where you are and what you need.
Symptom Management
Pregnancy symptoms are common — but that doesn't mean you simply have to endure them. Some of the common symptoms I support include:
Nausea and morning sickness
Digestive issues including heartburn and constipation
Fatigue
Sleep disruption
Mood changes and anxiety
Using evidence-based nutrition, supplementation, and lifestyle strategies, my goal is to help you feel as well as possible throughout your pregnancy.
Risk Reduction & Preventative Care
For patients at higher risk of developing certain conditions during pregnancy, proactive naturopathic support can play a meaningful role alongside conventional monitoring. I work with patients to help reduce the risk of and support the management of:
Miscarriage risk
Gestational diabetes
Gestational hypertension
Thyroid concerns in pregnancy
Screening & Nutritional Support
Detailed lab work and nutritional monitoring are a cornerstone of my pregnancy care. I work to ensure that key nutritional markers, hormonal health, and metabolic factors are being tracked throughout pregnancy — going beyond standard screening where appropriate — and that diet and lifestyle support is individualized to your specific needs at each stage.
Labour & Birth Preparation
As your due date approaches, I offer evidence-based support to help prepare your body for labour and birth — including nutritional strategies, supplementation, and lifestyle guidance to support a positive birth experience.
Postpartum Care
The postpartum period is too often overlooked in conventional care. I support patients through postpartum recovery — addressing mood, energy, hormonal changes, nutritional repletion, and the physical and emotional demands of the fourth trimester.
Treatment May Include:
Comprehensive lab testing throughout pregnancy to monitor nutritional status, hormonal health, and key metabolic markers
Evidence-based supplementation tailored to your specific needs and trimester
Nutritional medicine and therapeutic diet protocols to support a healthy pregnancy and manage symptoms
Risk reduction strategies for those at higher risk
Lifestyle and stress support — practical, sustainable approaches that fit your life
Labour and birth preparation support as you approach your due date
Postpartum recovery support — hormonal, nutritional, and emotional
A Note on Collaborative Care
Naturopathic pregnancy care works best alongside your existing obstetric or midwifery team. My role is to complement and support the conventional care you are receiving — not to replace it. I communicate openly with your care team where appropriate and always prioritize the safety of both you and your baby.
